Architecture
Report
Founded in 1988 and based in Oakland, Hilliard Architects excels at creative design solutions for a variety of project types.
We're a multi-focus architecture firm with a building science background who believes that great projects are built on great relationships.
We want to be the firm you want to work with, again and again.
Healthcare Clinic Refresh
Report
This busy northern California multispeciality clinic delivers a range of health services, including acupuncture pediatrics.
Our client wanted to refresh the entire facility-lighting, window treatments, furniture, casework, signage, paint-according to company design standards.
Also on the menu: creating a soothing, healing, and welcoming environment.
We started by imagining the patient experience from beginning to end.
Clearly, the materials, colors, and finishes we chose could ease stress as patients registered, navigated to a treatment area, and underwent a procedure.
Medical Office Building
Report
Builders say they appreciate the photo-like renderings on our elevation drawings because they can see at a glance what they're going to build.
Patients visit the Sleep Services Clinic of this busy northern California medical facility for diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
They begin by being evaluated in Sleep Medicine to determine whether they are positive or negative for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
Diagnosis and treatment may include an outpatient sleep study and visits with a respiratory therapist and a sleep physician.
Traumatic Brain Injury Center
Report
The center consists of a highly functional two-story building.
The first-floor houses offices and exam, conference, treatment, testing, and education rooms.
The second floor contains the aerobic, weight-training, and the physical therapy/gait gyms.
Collaboration among the VA physicians, psychologists, therapists, and the architects was key to determining the center's design: addressing the needs of young Veterans recovering from traumatic brain injuries.
To encourage client participation and rehabilitation efforts, the building's contemporary design incorporates state-of-the-art facilities and, most important, offers a health club ambiance.
International French School
Report
Hilliard Architects chose a fresh palette to brighten the interiors: pops of primary colors against white walls and flooring or jewel-toned carpeting.
A vibrant red color updated the traditional look of window mullions and doorways.
Library design included removin the ceiling to dramatically open the space.
Innovative details include colored fabric air dictwork and the use of fire rated intumescent paint on the old, riveted steel trusses allowing them to be visible while achieving required fire safety.
