Located on the sand in Marina Del Rey, California, this 3,400 sf 3-level residence maximizes the space available on the 35x82' parcel.
This elegant contemporary design was selected as the cover feature for the LA AIA publication for the 1984 Olympics.
A major element of the design solution was the separation of the structure into two distinct elements.
The resultant space (a recurring theme in our work) creates an open entry between building masses.
The entry projects through a three story atrium completely skinned in translucent material which provides natural light throughout the core of the home.
