The Architectural design process begins with understanding client needs and wants for the project. Understanding their daily lives and function, unique likes and dislikes are crucial components of the design process. Second, understanding the building, site and neighborhood it is set on will identify the limitations of design and code requirements.
Whether or not the site is flat or on a hillside is a key component min the initial design process and will determine further limitations on the project. Existing landscaping, street context, neighboring building color and materials all must have influence our own design. First, reviewing the client program and meeting clients on site will determine and develop the initial concept and vision for the project.
Based on client meetings, site conditions and limitations the firm will develop "Schematic Design" drawings of the proposed project for client review. After the client is satisfied with the design, we move on to perfecting the "Exterior Elevations" which refers to door and window placement and types, exterior detailing and design.
