View our process and procedures we take at Shuler Architecture every time with every client, to ensure each job is given the care and attention to details every step of the way.
The Design Process always begins with our programming guide.
This is a questionnaire we developed to help you think about the different priorities and room relationships you want to create in your home.
After completing this guide, the owner and architect meet at the project site and begin preliminary discussions about the owner's functional needs, general aesthetic goals, and projected budget.

You come home from a long day at work and while channel surfing, you come across a show where guys are buying run-down houses, fixing them up and reselling them for huge profits before the first mortgage payment is due.
In light of the recent economic meltdown, a new emphasis on the downsizing of the average American home from 2,629 square feet (last year) to 2,419 square feet (this year) has emerged.
I thought I would touch on some of the reasons I like small homes.
One hurdle that inevitably pops up at the beginning of many new design relationships is the notion of price gouging.

He worked remotely with me on an extensive renovation/restoration of a 1930s era art deco style brick tutor.
He came up with a design that included removal of the rear service entrance and basement stairwell thru kitchen, relocated stairwell and basement entry which nearly doubled the available floor space in kitchen.
Open floor plan of basement level by removal of supporting wall and designed header beam and support columns.
It looks Awesome A total transformation!
We hired Mark Shuler to design our weekend home on Lake Anna.
