Explore San Francisco's Public Art and Architecture - SF on Foot
Founded in 2012, Art and Architecture - SF was created to address the growing need for accessible, community-focused exploration of urban art and architectural heritage. Our founder, a seasoned architectural photographer, launched the platform in response to concerns about neglected public art highlighted in a New York Times article. We specialize in curated walking tours that reveal over 1000 documented art installations across San Francisco and beyond, combining historical context with contemporary insights. Our team brings decades of combined experience in architectural documentation and art curation, offering unique perspectives through personally guided explorations. We maintain strict adherence to factual accuracy while providing engaging narratives about both famous landmarks and hidden gems. Our commitment to public accessibility extends to digital resources that help visitors and locals alike discover art in their immediate environment. Through continuous weekend field research and photographic documentation, we ensure our content remains current and comprehensive. Our work has become a trusted resource for understanding the cultural significance behind the Bay Area's built environment.
