Collaboration
Report
In order to give form to our clients' visions, IGW directs a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary design process that seeks to balance aesthetic demands, functional requirements, environmental responsibility and financial considerations.
We believe a team philosophy and approach are essential to creating projects of lasting value with the most satisfying projects conceived and brought to life through true collaboration.
This means that the design team closely meshes with client representatives at every stage of project development, creating the reality of a larger "team" including all vested and interested parties, not just the A-E technical component.
BIM Capability
Report
BIM, the creation of an intelligent data base driven by the dynamic three-dimensional (3D) modeling of a building, has proven to be a powerful team collaboration tool through enhanced project visualization and information sharing and management.
IGW uses AutoDesk Revit software as our primary 3D design platform for the simulation and optimization of facility design and for the maintenance of accurate and coordinated data throughout the subsequent documentation, construction and facility management phases of a project.
Sustainability
Report
At IGW, we are sensitive to the substantial impact that buildings have on the environment and search for solutions which contribute to both human well-being and the continuing health of our global ecosystem.
For the planet, green building offers the promise of dramatically lowered air pollution, improved surface water quality, and the preservation of habitat and natural resources for future generations.
For the built environment, sustainable design means ecologically-based site selection and development, minimizing non-renewable energy consumption, conserving and protecting water, reducing construction waste, using environmentally preferred materials, enhancing indoor environmental quality and optimizing operational and maintenance practices.
Athletics and Recreation
Report
The Clubhouse Renovation at the Urbana Country Club in Urbana, Illinois involved the phased makeover of a dated 20,000 square foot facility in order to create a more flexible and upscale hospitality environment.
In addition to a reconfigured and expanded floor plan for improved operational efficiency, extensive interior design changes were made to the pro shop, dining and bar venues, locker/fitness rooms and meeting spaces to enhance the member experience.
The exterior of the structure was also reimaged to establish a unique character and sense of place which features a new entry pavilion, fire pits and pergolas.
