Johnston Architects was born from a desire to create exceptional architecture through intelligent, conscientious, and sustainable design. Originally designed as a studio guest cottage, the Casita has been componentized with numerous pre-designed rooms that can be added or subtracted. Furthermore, it's being developed for customization online with a simple-to-use website.
Designed to take advantage of lots with a change in elevation, Origami's building shell unfolds to provide a second level and folds away when it is not needed. Due to its familiar outline, Gable immediately feels like home. It can be built as a DADU on a large lot or as a collection of single-family homes on larger lots in dense urban settings.
