AIA Rochester's mission is to promote the profession and practice of Architecture in the Greater Rochester Area.
AIA Rochester is dedicated to providing its members opportunities for professional advancement, community involvement, and promoting design excellence in the built environment.
In 2019, the Rochester Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Rochester) celebrated 100 years as a professional organization.
In 1919, a handful of local architects formed the Rochester Society of Architects.

2022 Design Awards
Though the celebration is again scheduled for next June, our Design Awards program has altered the schedule leading up to the Awards celebration.
The timeline now aligns with that of other chapters.
We will notify winning teams in March, but will not reveal which award your project has won until the actual Awards show.
This will allow you to reach out to your clients and project teams in advance of the celebration.
Interviews with the architects and possibly with clients will be conducted with our videography team in Rochester in March/April; please be aware of this possible time commitment upon registration.

Poised along the geographic gateway between New York and Canada, the state-of-the-art Welcome Center invites visitors and residents to engage in the vibrant regional economy, culture, gastronomy, history, and experiences of the State of New York.
The building draws inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie Style architecture with roots in the heritage of Buffalo, New York.
The single-story building is centered by a high vaulted lobby with sections for dining, tourism, and services.
Features include the Taste NY Market, facility vending, indoor/outdoor seating areas, and the entrance lobby.

The Foundation AFGR
The Architectural Foundation of Greater Rochester's mission is to promote and enhance the practice of architecture as a cultural, artistic and business resource in the region.
We advocate for the architectural community and built environment and provide scholarship opportunities to regional students pursuing a career in architecture.

2019 Scholarship Recipients
In 2019, The Architectural Foundation of Greater Rochester awarded over $15,000 to local students attending or entering architectural studies at NAAB accredited programs.
Scholarships were provided in conjunction with AIA Rochester, AIA National, Bergmann, The Family of Myron Starks, AIA, and Women in Architecture.
Applications for next year's scholarships will be available in spring 2021 on our website and through AIA Rochester's social media.
